Payroll Manager - #1746651

Freightliner Group is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our Birmingham team on a full time, fixed term contract (9 months).

• Working as the team leader responsible for all payroll activities within G&W UK entities with service delivery focused on timely and accurate payroll activity.
• Responding to all queries in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring confidentiality and GDPR compliance. Escalate queries/issues to Head of Payroll where necessary.
• Delivering excellent customer service in line with the SLA’s and liaising with internal and external customers as required
• Timely and accurate processing of payroll data into Workday
• Ensure that the Workday payroll database is regularly updated to reflect any changes to employee salary and benefits, e.g., pensions, healthcare etc
• Maintain and develop maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the business (critical stakeholders include Finance / HR)
• Compliance with all statutory legislation and internal controls, ensuing effective SOX compliance.
• Accurate interpretation of all Terms and Conditions effecting the payment cycle. Liaise with 3rd party vendors and Government agencies
• Initiate / respond re all correspondence (inc. Government Agencies) within the agreed timescales.
• Statutory compliance with all payroll legislation / deductions
• Assisting the Head of Payroll in the compiling of BACS schedules, payroll reconciliations and the effective payment of all payroll disbursements
• Independent data validation of data entered by other members of the team and to be the first point of contact for issues relating to the 3rd party pay provider
• Calculating all statutory payments/ deductions.
• Calculate all overpayments and effect clear communication and payroll recovery.
