TeacherActive are a leading education recruitment agency with a strong national presence and a passion for making a real difference. We are now looking for an experienced IT Director to lead our technology strategy as we continue to grow and evolve.

The Director of IT will provide strategic and operational leadership of the technology function, ensuring that all systems, platforms, data, and infrastructure effectively support the business’s operational and longer-term objectives.

This role is responsible for maximising the impact of an already established technology team, overseeing the development of scalable, secure, and integrated systems across the business.

The Director of IT will lead innovation in systems development, automation, and data strategy, while ensuring resilience, compliance, and performance across all platforms.

It is likely the successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

You must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead the technical team operationally and to provide relevant challenge and support.

A strong strategic thinker, with excellent executional discipline, you will also have significant commercial acumen with an ability to link technical investment to business value and delivery ROI.

An exceptional communicator with the ability to influence non-technical stakeholders at all levels, you will need to be able to demonstrate technical credibility across architecture, business systems, infrastructure, databases and data.

With a demonstrable passion for innovation, development, and emerging technologies you should have a track record of positively adding value.

If you have proven experience as an IT Director or in a senior technology leadership role within similar sized organisation, along with proven experience of leading and inspiring a multi disciplined team to deliver both operationally and to drive change this may be the opportunity for you.

We are seeking someone with a wide base Technology understanding and experience including traditional on-premises and Cloud environments.

Experience in leading digital evolution and transition and platform migration initiatives, together with experience with internally and externally focussed technology due diligence, would also be advantageous.
