Payroll Administrator – Part Time - #1718907

FRS is recruiting a part-time HR & Payroll Administrator for a well-known charity based in Central Birmingham. The role offers around 18 hours per week and involves working within a small finance team.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a sociable, lively environment focused on bringing joy to others.

The main responsibilities include assisting with the processing of a single payroll, consolidating data from manual systems for input into an external payroll provider, along with general administrative duties.

1. Weekly maintenance of HR records (approximately 70 salaried employees and 250 casual staff) and payroll data using MS Excel.


2. Monthly preparation of payroll for salaried staff, including calculations for new joiners, leavers, and holiday pay.


3. Compilation of accurate monthly payroll reports for salaried and casual staff hours for submission to a payroll bureau.


4. Reconciliation of payroll reports for approval by Finance.


5. Timely application of pay and terms changes, including annual pay rises and wage increases.


6. Processing attachment of earnings and related payroll deductions.


7. Handling payroll queries from staff, escalating as necessary.


8. Preparation of the annual PSA declaration.


9. Processing statutory sick pay, maternity, paternity pay, and related admin.
