The Role


We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established client in Birmingham who is seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead their internal IT function. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation, offering long-term stability and the chance to make a meaningful impact on IT operations and team performance.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead and manage a team of IT Support professionals, ensuring high levels of performance and service delivery.

  • Oversee the daily operations of the IT department, including infrastructure, user support, and service desk functions.

  • Take ownership of the organisation’s Microsoft Azure environment, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Manage and maintain Cisco networking equipment, ensuring network availability and security across all sites.

  • Drive the implementation and ongoing administration of Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to align IT initiatives with business goals.

  • Lead recruitment efforts for IT staff, including hiring, onboarding, and team development.

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on systems, policies, and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection, security, and operational standards.


Key Requirements:



  • Proven experience managing IT support teams within a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Cisco networking technologies, and Office 365.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage recruitment, performance reviews, and team development.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Experience managing vendors and third-party support partners is a plus.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft 365) highly desirable.
