Smile Education are recruiting for an SEN teacher to start after the May half term in an SEMH all through school with students with various needs in the Central Birmingham area

 

The SEN teacher would be working full time, Monday to Friday with a small class of children ages varying from KS2 upwards. They would be joining a strong staff team and have the support of 2 other teaching assistants within the classroom

 

The school are looking for an experienced SEN teacher but will also see profiles of ECT’s or QTS teachers that have not worked in an SEN specific school

 

The Responsibilities of the SEN Teacher:



To plan and deliver strong lessons with varying structures for the needs of the children

Develop and concentrate on building a relationship with the child, staff and family members

Constant and consistent communication with the teaching assistants within the classroom and gauging feedback on how learning objectives can be met

Create a secure and positive environment for the child to learn and feel comfortable

Be comfortable working with a variety of needs and reporting back to the head teacher. 

To apply for this SEN teacher role, you will need:



An up-to-date DBS on the update service or dated within the last 12 months

QTS would be needed for this role

Experience working with SEN children or have a desire to want to work with SEN children

Experience working with Primary school children

At least 2 professional references covering the last 2 years of work history.

A daily rate of £140-£211.93 a day
