Interventions Teaching Assistant Location: Northfield, Birmingham (B31) Pay: £450-£480 per week Contract Type: Long-term, Full-time Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday Start Date: ASAP
Do you have a solid understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and a passion for helping pupils succeed? A supportive primary school is seeking a dedicated Interventions Teaching Assistant to support across the whole school. This full-time position starts ASAP and is ideal for someone enthusiastic about boosting pupil progress and confident in supporting both class-based and small group learning.
About the Role:
You will work closely with the Year 6 class teacher to deliver interventions and targeted support for pupils who require extra support with learning the curriculum. Your role will include working with small groups who require extra help in core subjects, while also providing general in-class support to ensure all students stay engaged and confident.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils from year groups 3-6 with whole class support.
- Leading small-group interventions in reading, writing, and maths.
- Reinforcing classroom learning through targeted activities.
- Providing whole-class support to help maintain focus and understanding.
- Assisting with the tracking and assessment of pupil progress.
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt learning strategies.
Candidate Requirements:
- Strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
- Experience working with primary-aged children.
- Confident in leading small groups and providing differentiated support.
- A proactive, positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
- A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable.
