About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead operations across a value stream, ensuring excellence in Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP) performance. This is a key leadership role focused on driving efficiency, improving productivity, and optimising operational performance in a highly regulated aerospace/manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a complex manufacturing environment, including hot metal forging, heat treatment, and aerospace engineering processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, maintaining up-to-date risk assessments and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
  • Develop and implement strategic operational plans aligned with company goals and customer demands.
  • Manage and mentor first-line leaders and team members, fostering a positive and engaged team culture.
  • Oversee production targets, ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyse and resolve customer-related issues using root cause analysis (8D process) to implement long-term solutions.
  • Promote lean manufacturing principles and drive process improvements across the production environment.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics, taking proactive steps to meet and exceed targets.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a data-driven approach.
  • Ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in a highly regulated industry such as aerospace, automotive, or heavy engineering.
