We have a current opportunity for an Electrical Engineer on a contract basis for a 6-12month project assignment with the possibility of extension upon successful completion of the project. The position will be based in East Kilbride with an engineering and construction company.
Responsibilities:
- Design electrical systems to relevant IEC standards
- Perform lighting calculations using relevant software
- Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
- Ensure electrical designs meet safety codes and regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical and instrumentation engineers
- Provision of technical support to the tendering and project teams.
- Review/approval of installation drawings and diagrams.
- Review/validation of vendor designs and documentation - mechanical packages and motors, (1kw to 3000kW).
- Integration with other staff to ensure the cost-effective development and execution of the complete project.
- Implementing and contributing to the development of processes and procedures to ensure that all contractual requirements are achieved safely and cost-effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards (IEC), and safety practices
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and other relevant design software
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of designing system in hazardous areas
