Electrical Engineer - #1672345

We have a current opportunity for an Electrical Engineer on a contract basis for a 6-12month project assignment with the possibility of extension upon successful completion of the project. The position will be based in East Kilbride with an engineering and construction company.
Responsibilities:

• Design electrical systems to relevant IEC standards


• Perform lighting calculations using relevant software


• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings


• Ensure electrical designs meet safety codes and regulations


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical and instrumentation engineers


• Provision of technical support to the tendering and project teams.


• Review/approval of installation drawings and diagrams.


• Review/validation of vendor designs and documentation - mechanical packages and motors, (1kw to 3000kW).


• Integration with other staff to ensure the cost-effective development and execution of the complete project.


• Implementing and contributing to the development of processes and procedures to ensure that all contractual requirements are achieved safely and cost-effectively.
  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field


• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting


• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards (IEC), and safety practices


• Proficiency with AutoCAD and other relevant design software


• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal


• Knowledge of designing system in hazardous areas
