Associate Director – Commercial Property Management

Birmingham or Bristol | £65,00–£70,000 + bonus | Hybrid working (3 days in office)

Madison Berkeley is working with an established property consultancy to appoint an Associate Director to its Commercial Property Management team. The role can be based in either Birmingham or Bristol.

The business manages a high-quality portfolio for institutional investors, property funds and commercial landlords. With demand growing, this is a chance to take ownership of key client relationships, help develop the team and play a meaningful part in the continued growth of the wider business.

The role

You’ll oversee a portfolio made up mainly of office and industrial assets, combining hands-on property management with strategic client advice, team support and business development.

Working closely with colleagues across property management and other specialist teams, you’ll help clients improve asset performance, identify opportunities and maintain a consistently high standard of service.

What you’ll be doing

• Manage the performance and day-to-day operation of a diverse commercial portfolio.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and provide proactive, commercially focused advice.
• Oversee service charge budgets, expenditure, reporting and operational matters.
• Manage tenant relationships, lease obligations and landlord and tenant issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve income, asset performance and value.
• Work with colleagues across asset management, agency, building consultancy and other teams.
• Support and mentor junior colleagues.
• Develop existing client relationships and contribute to winning new instructions.
• Maintain strong standards of reporting, compliance and service delivery.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be an experienced commercial property management professional, currently at Senior / Associate or Associate Director level, with experience managing substantial office and industrial assets.

You’ll bring:

• Strong technical commercial property management experience.
• Confidence managing complex assets and senior client relationships.
• Experience working with institutional investors, property funds or major commercial landlords.
• The commercial judgement to advise beyond day-to-day property management.
• An interest in developing colleagues, client relationships and new business.
• MRICS qualification, ideally.

An established Associate Director is preferred, though a strong Associate ready to step up will also be considered. A personable, ambitious and commercially minded approach will suit the team well.

Salary and benefits

• Base salary: Ideally up to £65,000, with flexibility for the right person, plus a strong bonus.
• Location: Birmingham or Bristol.
• Working pattern: Typically three days in the office and two from home.
