Senior Operational Buyer (Direct Procurement)

Location: Manufacturing Sector
Duration: 12 months but long term expected
Daily Rate: Up to £358.00

Our client, a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Operational Buyer to join their dynamic team on an initial 12-month contract with the potential for ongoing extension. This is an exciting opportunity for those who thrive in a hands-on operational procurement role!

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage procurement activities to support manufacturing and production requirements.
• Create, manage, and expedite purchase orders through SAP.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and performance.
• Manage material supply against Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Proactively resolve supply chain issues and material shortages.
• Support production schedules and operational requirements.
• Analyse procurement and supplier performance data.
• Collaborate effectively with planning, operations, engineering, and supply chain teams.
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.

Essential Experience:

• Previous experience as an Operational Buyer, Senior Buyer, Delivery Buyer
• Strong SAP experience gained within a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Purchasing experience supporting production and manufacturing operations
• Supplier management and relationship management experience
• Experience managing purchase orders, supplier deliveries and material availability
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyse procurement data
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• You will come from Aerospace, defence, automotive or engineering/manufacturing in particular

Highly Desirable

• Experience gained with organisations such as Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems, Collins Aerospace, Airbus, Leonardo, JLR, GKN Aerospace or similar complex manufacturing businesses
