As an Interim Category Manager, you will lead procurement activity for your portfolio of procurement projects, whilst helping to deliver clear, well-managed purchasing work that supports project needs and keeps procurement activity on track.

Description

• Lead category management activity, ensuring procurement work meets agreed project requirements.
• Plan and deliver sourcing exercises that provide clear options for project stakeholders.
• Manage supplier engagement throughout procurement activity to maintain progress against project plans.
• Prepare procurement documentation and maintain accurate records for each project activity.
• Work with procurement and supply chain colleagues to coordinate category plans and sourcing priorities.
• Review spend and supplier information to help shape category decisions and project actions.
• Provide clear updates on procurement progress, risks and next steps to relevant stakeholders.
• Support the delivery of project outcomes through organised and timely procurement activity.

Profile

A successful 'Interim Category Manager should have:

• Experience of category management and procurement delivery.
• Ability to run sourcing activity and prepare clear procurement documentation.
• Experience of working with suppliers and managing procurement actions through to completion.
• Confidence reviewing spend data and supplier information to inform decisions.
• Ability to manage several procurement tasks while keeping project priorities clear.
• Clear written communication skills for updates, documentation and stakeholder information.

Job Offer

• Temporary contract.
• Daily rate of £450 to £500, dependent on the level of experience.
• Location: Birmingham.
