Accounts Assistant (Temporary)

Location: Birmingham City Centre
Contract Type: Temporary, 3 months plus

Pay: £14.35 - £15.00 per hour depending on experience

Our global client is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic team in Birmingham City Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Head of Legal, who also oversees the company's accountancy functions. If you are a confident individual with a solid background in bookkeeping and a keen interest in accounting, this role could be the perfect fit!

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage account entries into Xero with precision.
• Issue invoices and credit notes, ensuring all documentation is current and accurate.
• Update relevant company documentation, maintaining compliance and efficiency.
• Understand and apply international VAT treatment, including the reverse charge mechanism.
• Oversee statutory fee treatment and creditor/debtor management, following firm policies.
• Execute currency conversion for GBP, EUR, and USD transactions.
• Prepare reporting tasks and undertake ad hoc duties as required.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

• AAT qualified or ACCA/CIMA qualified.
• Experience on Xero and Microsoft Excel.
• Reliability and independence are key traits for success in this position.

• Experience in account reconciliation, related party transaction reconciliation, and year-end accounts group reconciliation.
• Skills in balance confirmations and cooperation with auditors.

• The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
