The Role

As a Material Controller, you will be responsible for managing stock movements, maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating deliveries and dispatches, and ensuring materials are stored safely and efficiently. You'll work closely with Production, Purchasing, Logistics, Quality, and Engineering teams to support production continuity and customer delivery.

  • Maintain accurate stock records and transactions using JDE/ERP systems.

  • Carry out cycle counts, stock checks, and stock reconciliations.
  • Arrange collections, transfers, and deliveries with suppliers and logistics providers.
  • Maintain safe, organised stores areas in line with 5S and HSE standards.
  • Support the safe handling and storage of chemicals and controlled materials where required.
  • Work collaboratively across multiple departments to ensure smooth material flow.

About You

  • Experience within materials control, stores, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain environments.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, ideally JDE.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Understanding of material handling and storage best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • A team player with a proactive approach and strong sense of ownership.

Desirable

  • Forklift Truck Licence (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Experience of cycle counting and stock reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience handling chemicals or controlled materials.
  • Supplier or logistics coordination experience.

What's in it for You?

  • Competitive pay rate of £19.98 per hour.
  • Consistent Monday to Friday early shift pattern.
  • Long-term, ongoing opportunity.
  • Opportunity to join a leading manufacturing environment.
  • Supportive team with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
