  • Supporting students with SEND to access the mainstream secondary curriculum
  • Helping pupils remain engaged, focused, and confident during lessons
  • Adapting learning materials and activities to meet individual pupil needs
  • Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
  • Implementing strategies outlined within Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual support plans
  • Building positive, trusting relationships while encouraging independence and resilience
  • Supporting pupils who may struggle with transitions, classroom routines, or social situations
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing regular feedback to teaching staff
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and the SEN department to promote an inclusive learning environment

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND or additional learning needs is highly desirable
  • Experience working within a UK secondary school, SEN school, Alternative Provision, or similar educational setting would be advantageous
  • A good understanding of ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and other additional needs
  • Patient, compassionate, and adaptable, with a positive approach to supporting young people
  • Confident working with secondary-aged pupils across KS3 and KS4
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to challenging situations
  • Proactive, reliable, and comfortable working collaboratively with teaching staff
  • Passionate about promoting inclusion and helping pupils achieve positive academic and personal outcomes

  • Long-term opportunity offering stability and genuine career progression
  • Opportunity to secure a permanent position within the school
  • Weekly pay through a straightforward digital system
  • Free CPD opportunities, including Autism Awareness, Behaviour Management, Safeguarding, SEND, and SEMH
