What you'll do:

• Manage your own caseload of private client matters, including handling high value and complex probate cases as well as estate planning for affluent clients.
• Assist other case handlers within the team and wider department by providing guidance and support on their cases when required.
• Supervise junior team members, helping them develop their skills and knowledge through mentoring and constructive feedback.
• Advise clients on their financial affairs, taking instructions with sensitivity and professionalism to ensure their needs are fully understood.
• Travel to meet clients in person, building strong relationships through attentive service and clear communication.
• Prepare and file correspondence, notes, and documentation related to client matters with meticulous attention to detail.
• Support marketing initiatives for the team and department by promoting services to intermediaries and developing new contacts within the network.
• Achieve set financial targets and chargeable KPIs by maintaining high standards of productivity and quality in your work.
• Ensure all relevant deadlines are met and quality measures adhered to by following established policies and procedures.
• Work collaboratively within the team while also demonstrating initiative when managing individual responsibilities.

What you bring:

• You are a qualified solicitor with proven experience in private client law, particularly in handling high value or complex probate matters as well as estate planning for wealthy individuals.
• You possess a keen interest or demonstrable experience in income tax, inheritance tax, capital gains tax planning, and reporting related to personal estates.
• You have experience or willingness to undertake STEP qualification (funded after twelve months), showing commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Your business development skills are well-honed; an existing network of contacts would be highly advantageous for expanding client relationships.
• You demonstrate excellent IT proficiency across legal software platforms used for case management and documentation preparation.
• Your communication skills are outstanding-both written and verbal-enabling you to advise clients clearly while maintaining empathy throughout sensitive discussions.
• You excel at time management and organisation, adeptly prioritising tasks in order to meet strict deadlines without compromising quality.
• You are able to multi-task efficiently while maintaining attention to detail across all aspects of your workload.
