Civil Engineering & Groundworks
Our client is an established civil engineering and groundworks contractor seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support projects across Birmingham and the wider Midlands.
The business delivers a diverse range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects, including highways, groundworks, drainage, reinforced concrete and associated infrastructure works.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional looking to take on greater responsibility, work across varied projects and develop their career within an established contractor.
The Role
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety assessments across multiple projects.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies and industry standards.
- Review and assist with the preparation of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
- Support site management teams in maintaining safe working practices.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying corrective actions.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and ongoing H&S guidance.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture across all projects.
About You
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role within civil engineering, infrastructure or groundworks.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and construction health and safety legislation.
- Experience conducting site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
- Good communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with site teams and management.
- Full UK driving licence.
