Junior Videographer and Content Assistant - #2182864
GenXO
I’m a content creator and founder of GenXO, looking for a Junior Videographer and Content Assistant to support me with filming and content production.
You will work closely with me on my own content, including social media videos, educational content and course shoots. You will also support selected GenXO client projects, which could include studio shoots, interviews, podcasts, events and content filmed on location.
This is a practical, hands on role. You need to be comfortable setting up cameras, lighting and sound, keeping equipment organised, and making sure footage is safely backed up and ready for our editors.
**What the work involves**
• Filming content in our studio and at other locations
• Setting up and operating cameras, lighting and audio equipment
• Helping plan shoots and preparing the equipment needed
• Keeping batteries, memory cards, cables and other equipment organised
• Checking recordings and backing up footage carefully before handing it over
• Organising files and communicating clearly with editors and the wider team
• Supporting both my personal creator content and selected client shoots
**Please read this before applying**
This role can be challenging. Shoot plans can change, locations and projects vary, and you will need to stay focused when there is a lot happening. Some days will involve carrying and setting up equipment, solving practical problems and working to deadlines. You must be willing to travel to shoots when needed and take responsibility for the details, especially audio, footage and backups.
You do not need to know everything on day one, but you do need to be reliable, organised, comfortable learning quickly and able to take feedback. If you are only looking for a relaxed role where you simply turn up and operate a camera, this probably will not be the right fit.
**What we’re looking for**
• Practical experience filming video, whether through work, education or personal projects
• A good understanding of camera settings, composition, lighting and sound
• Familiarity with Sony cameras is useful
• Care and attention when handling equipment and organising files
• Clear communication and a willingness to work as part of a team
• A portfolio or examples showing what you have filmed
A degree is not essential. Your practical ability, attitude and willingness to learn matter more.
**Location:** Halesowen, near Birmingham, with studio and location work
**Hours:** 24 hours per week, across 3 days
**Pay:** £13 per hour
**Application deadline:** 31 December 2026
To apply, email [email protected] with a short introduction, your CV and links to examples of your video work. Please tell us about your experience with cameras, lighting and sound, and how you would travel to Halesowen and location shoots.
