Shift-Based Handyperson - Birmingham - Global Facilities Management Organisation: FMCG

CBW Staffing Solutions are looking for two experienced and reliable Handypersons to join our client’s on-site facilities team based in Birmingham.

You’ll be responsible for carrying out reactive repairs to the building fabric, plumbing and sanitaryware replacements, and small-scale groundworks such as repointing, levelling paving slabs and fence repairs. You’ll also undertake minor joinery and decoration work, and assist with office or desk moves when required.

This is a varied, hands-on role within a busy FMCG environment, ensuring the site remains safe, fully operational and well maintained.

We have two opportunities available, working a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off, 10am–10pm.

Package

• Competitive salary of up to £40,000 per annum
• 4 on 4 off shift pattern
• Working hours: 10am–10pm
• Out-of-hours on-call rota (TBC)

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive building fabric repairs
• Perform general plumbing repairs and replace sanitaryware, including taps and toilet components
• Complete basic groundworks and landscaping repairs, including repointing, paving and fence repairs
• Undertake minor joinery and decoration works
• Support office moves and furniture relocations
• Ensure the site remains safe, tidy and presentable
• Carry out general site cleaning duties when required
• Respond to maintenance requests and ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar maintenance or handyperson role
• Strong background in commercial building maintenance
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Physically able to meet the demands of the role, including lifting, climbing and standing for extended periods
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible approach to working within a shift-based environment
