Java Engineer | Birmingham (3-4 days onsite) | £515 per day (Inside) | 12-month contract

I'm working with a global technology consultancy that's looking for a Java Engineer to join their financial services work in Birmingham, starting ASAP!

You'd be building the systems behind banking and investment platforms, where reliability really matters. You'd own how they hold up under real-world load and how they adapt without piling up tech debt.

What you'll be doing:

• Building robust Java applications for financial services clients

• Designing REST APIs and working with reactive programming (RxJava)

• Working with NoSQL databases, ideally MongoDB

• Keeping quality high with solid unit testing

What they're looking for:

• 6+ years of commercial software development

• Strong Java skills (Java 8/9)

• Experience with REST APIs, NoSQL and reactive programming

• Happy to be onsite in Birmingham 3-4 days a week
