Mitchell Adam is currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join a well-established and growing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes and working closely with senior leadership to support business performance.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting and meaningful commercial insight.

This role would suit someone who enjoys the variety of working in a broad finance position, balancing technical accounting responsibilities with the opportunity to influence wider business decisions.

As Financial Controller, you will oversee the financial reporting function, manage and develop the finance team and work closely with senior stakeholders to support the continued success of the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of the monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Managing budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning.

• Maintaining strong balance sheet controls, reconciliations and financial governance.

• Leading and developing the finance team, ensuring efficient processes and high standards.

• Overseeing year-end reporting and managing relationships with external auditors.

• Providing commercial analysis and financial insight to support strategic and operational decisions.

• Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting and strengthen internal controls.

• Working closely with senior leadership to understand business performance and support future growth.

Ideally, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with previous experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior finance position.

You will have strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders across the business.

We are particularly interested in individuals who are comfortable being hands-on, can demonstrate strong leadership skills and enjoy working in an environment where they can make a tangible difference.

• A competitive salary of £65,000 - £75,000.
