GTS Nitrogen Services Limited
Company Description GTS Nitrogen Services Limited is based on Salcombe Road in the Meadow Lane Industrial Estate in Alfreton (DE55 7RG), serving industrial clients that require specialist nitrogen services and related engineering support. The company operates in a practical, site-focused environment, supporting projects that demand safe, reliable, and efficient technical solutions. Team members often work closely with customers and on-site personnel to deliver high-quality fabrication, welding, and service work. The location and industrial setting offer opportunities for hands-on experience with equipment, structures, and systems used in demanding operational conditions.
Role Description This full-time Site Welder and Fabricator role is a hybrid position, based primarily in Birmingham with some work-from-home flexibility for planning, documentation, and coordination tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include welding and fabricating metal structures, pipework, and components to technical drawings and specifications, both in the workshop and at customer sites. The role involves preparing materials, setting up and operating welding and cutting equipment, inspecting completed work for quality and safety, and assisting with installation and assembly of fabricated items. The Site Welder and Fabricator will collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians, follow safe working practices, maintain tools and equipment, and complete job reports and documentation as required.
Qualifications
  • Strong welding and fabrication abilities, including experience with common welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, MMA) and use of cutting, grinding, and forming tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and fabrication instructions, with good measurement and layout skills.
  • Solid understanding of site safety practices, including safe handling of equipment, adherence to risk assessments, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Proven experience working in industrial or engineering environments, ideally in field or site-based roles.
  • Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers.
  • Willingness to travel to local and regional sites as needed and work in varied on-site conditions.
  • Relevant welding or fabrication certifications, apprenticeship, or vocational training; a full driving license is highly beneficial.
