Description

As the Interim Senior Finance Business Partner, you will:

• Partner closely with operational, commercial and leadership teams to improve business performance.
• Challenge and support stakeholders to deliver budget and forecast commitments.
• Provide robust commercial insight and influence decision-making across the business.
• Coach and develop an established finance team, enhancing capability and business partnering effectiveness.
• Drive accountability throughout the organisation and ensure decisions are focused on value creation.
• Work collaboratively with commercial teams on contract performance, contract costing and profitability improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve margins, operational performance and overall financial outcomes.
• Influence key stakeholders at all levels, often within a traditional and well-established business culture.
• Support the business in understanding and applying the principles of IFRS 15 within a contract-based environment.
• Use analysis produced by others to inform recommendations and strategic decisions rather than being primarily responsible for producing reports.

Profile

We are interested in hearing from individuals who can demonstrate:

• A proven track record as a Senior Finance Business Partner or equivalent commercial finance leader.
• Experience within construction, contracting, infrastructure, engineering, facilities management or similarly complex, contract-led environments.
• Strong understanding of contract costing, margin management and commercial performance drivers.
• Good working knowledge of IFRS 15 and its application.
• The ability to make an immediate impact within an existing team and business.
• Exceptional influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience coaching, mentoring and developing finance and non-finance colleagues.
• A reputation for constructively challenging stakeholders and driving accountability.
• Evidence of delivering measurable business improvements, enhancing profitability and adding value to the bottom line.
• The credibility, resilience and commercial acumen to succeed in a demanding and occasionally challenging environment.
• A hands-on approach and the confidence to operate both strategically and operationally.
• This is not a role for someone who simply produces reports or explains historical performance.

• You will be expected to hold the business to account, drive delivery against budget and forecast commitments, and help set the organisation on a stronger path for the future.

Job Offer

• Interim contract.
• Daily rate of £800 - £900
• Based in Birmingham, with some travel
