Business Studies Teacher | Birmingham & Solihull
Secondary & Sixth Form Teaching | Flexible, Full-Time & Long-Term Opportunities | November 2026 Onwards
Are you a qualified Business Studies Teacher looking for new teaching opportunities across Birmingham and Solihull?
Aspire People is expanding its network of Business Studies specialists to support secondary schools and sixth forms throughout Birmingham, Solihull and the surrounding areas.
We're particularly interested in teachers who can make Business Studies engaging and relevant, bringing real-world examples into the classroom while maintaining strong expectations for pupil behaviour and achievement.
Whether you're an experienced Business Teacher seeking a new opportunity, an Early Career Teacher developing your experience or a specialist interested in longer-term supply work, we'd like to hear from you.
WHAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE WE RECRUITING FOR?
We are building our candidate pool for future daily supply, short-term cover, regular weekly bookings and longer-term Business Studies teaching assignments.
Depending on the school and placement, responsibilities may include:
- Delivering Business Studies lessons at GCSE and A-Level.
- Teaching BTEC Business or other vocational Business qualifications where appropriate.
- Supporting pupils with business concepts including marketing, finance, operations, enterprise and human resources.
- Preparing students for examinations and coursework assessments.
- Planning engaging lessons using relevant business examples and case studies.
- Maintaining effective classroom routines and managing behaviour confidently.
- Marking, assessing and monitoring pupil progress.
- Working collaboratively with Business departments and wider teaching teams.
Some assignments may involve teaching related subjects, such as Economics or Enterprise, where this matches your qualifications and experience.
For longer-term placements, planning, marking, assessment and additional departmental responsibilities may be required.
These are prospective opportunities across multiple schools and sixth forms rather than a confirmed vacancy at one specific institution.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are particularly interested in candidates who have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS for school-based teaching assignments.
- Experience teaching Business Studies within secondary or post-16 education.
- Strong knowledge of GCSE Business and/or A-Level Business.
- Confidence delivering engaging lessons to students of different abilities.
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to undertake planning, marking and assessment for longer-term assignments.
- A professional, adaptable and reliable approach.
Applications are welcomed from experienced Business Studies Teachers and Early Career Teachers.
Candidates with experience delivering BTEC Business, Economics, Enterprise or vocational Business courses are particularly encouraged to highlight these skills.
We are also interested in experienced post-16 Business lecturers for suitable college-based opportunities, where the qualification requirements may differ from those for school teaching.

Our secondary and further education recruitment team supports institutions throughout Birmingham and Solihull, including:
- Central Birmingham, Aston, Handsworth and Erdington.
- East Birmingham, including Small Heath, Bordesley Green, Yardley and Sheldon.
