AP / AR Manager - #2171207

Hybrid Work Pattern based in Birmingham
6-month contract

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Manager to join a busy finance function on an initial six-month contract.

This is a hands-on management position with responsibility for the overall running of both the AP and AR functions. You will manage a team of 5-6, oversee key month-end and year-end activities and play a leading role in improving finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day running of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Lead and support a team of 5-6 finance staff
• Oversee month-end reporting and close activities
• Support and oversee year-end reporting
• Identify opportunities to improve existing financial processes and ways of working
• Ensure AP and AR activities are completed accurately and within required timescales
• Work collaboratively with the wider finance team and key stakeholders
• Provide approachable, supportive and effective leadership to the team

About You

To be considered, you will ideally have:

• At least 5 years' experience working in a similar AP/AR or transactional finance management role
• AAT qualification or an equivalent/relevant accounting qualification, such as ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or ACA
• Proven experience of managing and developing a finance team
• Strong knowledge of both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Experience overseeing month-end and year-end processes
• A track record of identifying and implementing process improvements
• Strong finance systems experience
• Experience with Unit4 / Business World (Agresso) would be highly desirable
• A collaborative, approachable and solutions-focused management style
