Metrology Specialist - #2170977

We're seeking an experienced Metrology Engineer to work for a Birmingham Based Manufacturing business. This role will focus on making sure incoming components are to specification and fit for manufacture.

This role is open to both Permanent and Contract candidates

Metrology Specialist Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming components using CMM and Optical Measuring Equipment.
• Review engineering drawings and assess the application of GD&T.
• Define and refine data, tolerance schemes and dimensional requirements.
• Identify tolerance issues that could affect assembly, function or manufacturability.
• Work with design, manufacturing and quality teams to resolve dimensional queries.
• Support inspection planning and help ensure drawings can be measured consistently.
• Communicate technical findings and recommended changes clearly to stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience measuring components using optical measurement systems (CMM).
• Strong practical experience applying GD&T to engineering drawings.
• Experience working with manufacturing and inspection teams to resolve dimensional issues.
