As a Buyer in the west Midlands, you will manage purchasing activity for an FMCG business, helping to keep goods available for day-to-day operations. You will work within Procurement & Supply Chain to place orders, manage supplier relationships and support reliable supply.

The organisation operates in the FMCG sector in the West Midlands, who are continuing to grow in all areas of the business, notably the procurement team is growing in size. They are a industry leader in the UK and have recently moved to a new office HQ in line with the planned continual growth.

Description

What the successful Buyer can expect:

• Manage purchasing activity for assigned goods and services, ensuring orders are placed accurately and on time.
• Build and maintain productive supplier relationships to support consistent supply and clear communication.
• Review demand and stock information to help maintain appropriate product availability.
• Raise and track purchase orders, resolving queries to keep the ordering process moving.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and follow up on delays to reduce disruption.
• Work with Procurement & Supply Chain colleagues to align buying activity with operational needs.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information to support clear reporting.
• Identify purchasing issues early and take practical action to support continuity of supply.

Profile

A successful 'Buyer' should have:

• Experience of purchasing goods or services and managing purchase orders.
• Full Tender experience - End to End process
• Strong negotiation techniques and experience
• Knowledge of supplier management and maintaining clear supplier communication.
• Ability to review stock, demand and delivery information to support buying decisions.
• Confidence resolving order queries and following up on supply issues.
• Strong attention to detail when maintaining purchasing records and data.
• Ability to work effectively with Procurement & Supply Chain teams.

Job Offer

What the successful Buyer can expect:

• Permanent Buyer position based in the West Midlands.
• Salary of £40,000 to £45,000, dependent on the level of experience.
