As a Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for driving new business growth across your territory by identifying, engaging, and converting prospective customers.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys hunting for opportunities and building a pipeline through a combination of self-generated business development activity, networking, referrals, outbound prospecting, and qualified leads provided by our SDR team.
You'll take ownership of the full sales cycle, from initial contact through to proposal, negotiation, and close, helping SMEs access the health and safety solutions they need to grow safely and compliantly.
Responsibilities:
- Generate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, social selling and outbound activity.
- Follow up on qualified leads provided by the SDR team and convert opportunities into revenue.
- Conduct discovery meetings with prospective clients to understand their challenges, objectives and compliance requirements.
- Build strong relationships with decision-makers across SME businesses.
- Present Phoenix Health & Safety's services in a compelling and consultative manner.
- Prepare and deliver tailored proposals and commercial solutions.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to close.

For someone who genuinely enjoys the challenge of new business development, this is an opportunity to make a significant impact while building a highly rewarding career.
What’s the Most Challenging Thing About This Role?
This isn't a role for someone who likes waiting for opportunities to come to them.
Success requires energy, resilience and a proactive mindset. You'll be expected to generate your own opportunities as well as maximise company-generated leads whilst managing a busy pipeline and maintaining momentum throughout the sales process.
The market is competitive, targets are ambitious, and you'll need to be comfortable handling objections, opening conversations with new prospects and staying focused when deals don't go your way.
For the right person, however, that's exactly what makes the role exciting.
