CRA Consulting
Role: RTA Claims Litigator
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
Contract: Full time, permanent, remote
CRA Consulting is assisting a reputable legal services organisation with the appointment of an RTA Claims Litigator to support its Personal Injury offering in Birmingham.
This opportunity would suit someone with a background in claimant RTA work who enjoys running their own files, negotiating settlements and progressing claims through the litigation process. You'll bring a practical understanding of Fast Track matters and the MOJ Portal, alongside the confidence to manage a varied caseload and deliver a positive experience for clients.
You'll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the team, taking responsibility for a portfolio of non-infant Road Traffic Accident claims and ensuring each matter is progressed proactively.
The role offers a mix of client contact, legal case management, evidence assessment and settlement negotiations, with the opportunity to continue developing your technical expertise within an established legal environment.
Key duties will include:
Taking ownership of a caseload of claimant RTA claims, including non-infant Fast Track matters.
Managing claims through the MOJ Portal and progressing cases into litigation where required.
Reviewing liability, causation and quantum to establish the strengths and merits of individual claims.
Assessing medical evidence, financial losses and supporting documentation.
Preparing legal correspondence, court documents and other case-related paperwork.
Instructing medical experts and obtaining additional evidence where appropriate.
Keeping clients informed of developments, explaining the claims process and managing expectations.
Conducting negotiations with insurers and opposing representatives to secure appropriate settlements.
Monitoring deadlines, court directions and outstanding actions to keep matters on track.
Maintaining accurate file records and ensuring cases are handled in line with relevant procedures and compliance requirements.
Working alongside colleagues to share knowledge, maintain service standards and contribute to the team's overall success.
You'll ideally have experience within a claimant personal injury environment and be comfortable handling RTA claims with a degree of autonomy.
We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
Experience managing Fast Track RTA claims.
Familiarity with the MOJ Portal and the wider RTA claims process.
An understanding of personal injury litigation and court procedures.
The ability to assess evidence, identify issues and progress cases towards resolution.
Confident negotiation skills and a commercial approach to settlement.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
A strong commitment to client care and delivering a reliable service.
Good organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines.
A willingness to contribute to a team environment while taking responsibility for individual performance.
Joining an established legal services organisation gives you the opportunity to build on your existing RTA experience while developing your litigation skills and taking responsibility for your own caseload.
The package includes:
Competitive remuneration, reflecting experience.
A collaborative team environment.
Opportunities for ongoing learning and technical development.
Potential for longer-term career progression.
The chance to further establish your experience within claimant personal injury litigation.
