Finance Manager - #2167831
Robert Half
Finance Manager
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid)
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000
Job type: Permanent, Full-time
Are you a practice-trained accountant ready to take real ownership of financial control in a growing, PE-backed manufacturing business?
We are recruiting a technically strong Finance Manager for a private equity-backed manufacturing business. This role suits someone who enjoys getting into the detail, takes pride in the integrity of the numbers and wants to make a genuine difference.
The role
You will play a key role in the financial control of the UK & Ireland business. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and own the processes that underpin accurate reporting, robust governance and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Financial control: ensuring balance sheet integrity, overseeing reconciliations and strengthening internal controls
- Statutory reporting: preparing statutory accounts under UK GAAP and managing regulatory filings
- Audit and governance: leading external and internal audits, maintaining SOX controls and remediating audit findings
- Tax compliance: managing corporation tax, VAT and UK & Ireland reporting obligations
About you
You'll be ACA or ACCA qualified, with strong technical accounting knowledge and an appetite to take ownership. Ideally, you will also bring:
- Training within a Top 10 accountancy practice
- Hands-on financial control experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience managing audits
- Exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) or multinational group structures
This is not a role for someone who wants to review reports from a distance. It is for someone who wants to roll up their sleeves, challenge the detail, improve controls and take real accountability for getting the numbers right.
Don't tick every box?
We'd still love to hear from you. If this role excites you but your experience doesn't match every point above, please apply anyway. Your skills, potential and approach matter just as much as a checklist, and you may be exactly who we're looking for.
What's on offer
- Salary of £60,000 - £75,000
- Hybrid working
- On-site parking
- The chance to make a tangible impact in a growing, PE-backed business
