- Provide expert advice on consultation law, EU law or Human Rights law as required by client cases.
- Handle litigation tasks including drafting pre-action correspondence, preparing pleadings, liaising with Court staff and assembling trial bundles.
- Collaborate with in-house legal teams and instruct leading counsel when necessary to ensure comprehensive representation for clients.
- Monitor critical dates for compliance purposes and maintain meticulous attention to detail in all procedural aspects of case management.
- Master internal systems and procedures quickly so you can advise clients effectively on process requirements.
- Take responsibility for managing your own caseload under supervision while contributing marketing support such as preparing seminars, writing reports or updating literature.
- Record time promptly and meet financial goals by achieving chargeable hours targets consistently.
What you bring:
- Experience providing advice on administrative and public law risk within the context of statutory interpretation or vires analysis (preferable but not essential as full training will be provided)
- Ability to advise on consultation law, EU law or Human Rights law with sensitivity to client needs.
- Experience handling litigation tasks such as drafting pre-action correspondence, preparing pleadings and liaising with Court staff.
- Familiarity with information law including FOIA (Freedom of Information Act), DPA (Data Protection Act) and EIR (Environmental Information Regulations).
- Capacity to monitor critical dates accurately while ensuring compliance with procedural requirements.
- Quick mastery of internal systems coupled with strong attention to detail when advising clients on processes.
