Data Architect - #2165442

This is a long-term contract until March 2027 (with likely extension), offering a daily rate of £750-800 (inside IR35), based in Birmingham with 3 days per week on site. Candidates based in London who can travel to Birmingham are also being considered.

The role - what you'll be doing

• Enterprise Data Warehouse models refresh
• Redocumenting and updating existing enterprise data warehouse models - creating fresh diagrams, ensuring robust version control, and putting together clear how-to guides for colleagues using enterprise architecture tools.
• Data cataloguing & lineage
• Working closely with data category management to catalogue data, document flows, and map how data moves across applications using tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect or Orbus iServer (to be confirmed).
• Conceptual & logical data modelling support
• Providing conceptual data models for new initiatives, smaller entity relationship models, and assurance of physical and logical data models across projects.

What our client is looking for

• Strong experience with data modelling tools (e.g. ER/Studio, ERwin, PowerDesigner, Sparx EA, etc.)
• Background in large, complex organisations - e.g. public sector, government, construction, finance, or telecoms - dealing with substantial and complex datasets
• A clear conceptual understanding of data modelling and data architecture - they are not looking for a data engineer or full-stack data architect
• Desirable: experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect
• Ability to work on site in Birmingham at least 3 days per week
