A growing and well-established independent MEP and Sustainability consultancy is looking to appoint a Mechanical Associate to join its Birmingham office. With over 200 professionals across nine UK offices, the business delivers innovative engineering solutions across the healthcare, education, residential, commercial, science & technology and data centre sectors. Your new role
As Mechanical Associate, you will play a key leadership role within the Birmingham team, taking responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple projects while supporting the growth and development of both clients and staff.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading mechanical design delivery across a diverse project portfolio.
Acting as the main point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
Managing project programmes, resources and commercial performance.
Developing existing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
Mentoring and developing engineers within the mechanical team.
Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality project delivery.
Supporting business growth through technical excellence and client engagement.
The position offers a genuine opportunity to influence office growth while maintaining a strong technical involvement in project delivery.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree-qualified within Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) would be advantageous.
- Previous experience within a Building Services consultancy environment.
- Strong mechanical design and project delivery experience.
- Experience managing client relationships and leading projects.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A commercial mindset with an interest in developing new business opportunities.
