Senior Administrator - HR (School Based) - Maternity Cover
Location: Birmingham, B8
Contract: Temporary (Approx. 7 Months Maternity Cover)
Hours: Full Time, Term Time Only (40 hours per week)
Salary: £27,254 - £33,699 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Administrator (HR) to join a busy and supportive school in Birmingham on a temporary maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-focused administrator with experience in HR, recruitment administration, or school administration.
Working closely with the school's senior leadership team, you will play a key role in supporting HR processes, maintaining compliance records, and ensuring all safeguarding requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the school's Single Central Record (SCR), ensuring all compliance and safeguarding checks are accurately recorded and kept up to date.
- Support the full recruitment administration process, including arranging interviews, obtaining references, processing DBS checks, and coordinating pre-employment checks.
- Maintain accurate staff records and personnel files in line with GDPR and safeguarding requirements.
- Support absence management processes, including monitoring attendance records, arranging meetings, preparing correspondence, and taking minutes.
- Produce HR documentation, employee letters, and meeting packs.
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team on HR and staffing matters.
- Act as a first point of contact for HR-related queries from staff.
- Ensure all employee and recruitment records are accurately maintained.
- Assist with wider school administration duties when required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as an HR Administrator, School Administrator, Senior Administrator, or in a similar administrative role.
- Experience supporting recruitment and maintaining employee records.
- Knowledge of the Single Central Record (SCR) and safeguarding compliance processes (highly desirable).
- Experience supporting absence management or HR procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.
- Previous experience within an educational setting would be advantageous but is not essential.

- Monday to Friday
- 8:00am - 4:30pm
- 30-minute lunch break
- Term Time Only
