Geotechnical Design Engineer (offering Chartership)

I'm working with a growing specialist engineering consultancy looking to appoint a Geotechnical Design Engineer to join their expanding team.

With a strong and secure pipeline of work, predominantly across the water sector, this is an opportunity to join a business where you'll receive one-to-one mentoring, genuine responsibility and a clear progression pathway — without getting lost in a large consultancy structure.

This is a design-led role, with no requirement for regular site work, making it ideal for someone who wants to build their career around technical geotechnical engineering and design.

The Role:

• Produce geotechnical designs, calculations and technical documentation

• Undertake geotechnical analysis and interpretation to support project delivery

• Review and interpret ground investigation data and develop appropriate design solutions

• Support the design of foundations, retaining structures, earthworks and other geotechnical elements

• Work closely with civil, structural and wider engineering disciplines

• Prepare technical reports, specifications and design deliverables

• Contribute to projects from concept through to detailed design

• Support the delivery of projects predominantly within the water sector

• Gain exposure to additional projects across MOD and MOJ sectors

• Work closely with experienced engineers through one-to-one mentoring and technical support

• Take increasing responsibility as your technical capability and experience develop

• Work towards Chartership and/or progression to Senior Geotechnical Engineer

What You'll Need:

• Experience working within a geotechnical consultancy or design environment

• Relevant degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline

• Experience producing geotechnical designs and calculations

• Good understanding of geotechnical principles, analysis and design methodologies

• Ability to interpret ground investigation information and apply it to design

• Strong technical, written and verbal communication skills

• A genuine interest in developing your career within geotechnical design

• Ideally working towards Chartership, or motivated to begin that journey
