Employee Relations Specialist

FTC - Through to September 2027

Birmingham- Hybrid

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an immediately available experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join a large, values-led organisation during a significant period of organisational change and growth.

This role will play a pivotal part in supporting the transfer and integration of employees as part of a major transformation programme. Working closely with senior leaders, HR colleagues, trade unions and key stakeholders, you will lead complex employee relations activity, support consultation processes and ensure a smooth and positive transition for employees throughout the programme.

This is a highly visible and influential role requiring a credible HR professional with strong employee relations expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills and a proven ability to navigate complex organisational change.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading employee relations activity associated with organisational change and employee transfers.
  • Supporting and coordinating TUPE-related activities.
  • Managing complex ER cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence matters.
  • Leading consultation processes with employees, trade unions and employee representatives.
  • Identifying and mitigating employment-related risks.
  • Developing people plans, risk registers and project documentation.
  • Supporting post-transfer integration and embedding organisational culture and values.

I'd love to speak with HR professionals who can demonstrate substantial experience within employee relations and organisational change environments. Experience of TUPE, consultation processes, restructures and stakeholder engagement is essential. Exposure to education, public sector or similarly complex organisations would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will combine technical ER expertise with excellent communication skills, resilience and the ability to build credibility at all levels. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys rolling their sleeves up, influencing outcomes and making a tangible impact during a critical period of change.
