Risk and Compliance Manager – Birmingham

A leading legal practice is looking for an experienced Risk & Compliance Manager to join its growing central compliance function.

This is a high-profile opportunity for a legal risk and compliance professional who enjoys working with senior stakeholders and wants a role combining regulatory advice, risk management, compliance and strategic projects.

The Role

You will:

• Provide advice on SRA regulations, AML, conflicts, data protection and professional risk
• Lead compliance audits, reviews and investigations
• Manage and support professional indemnity claims, complaints and regulatory matters
• Advise and challenge partners and senior stakeholders on compliance issues
• Monitor regulatory developments and lead projects arising from legislative change
• Develop best practice across the firm's risk and compliance framework
• Deliver training, guidance and practical advice to colleagues

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong legal sector risk and compliance experience
• Good knowledge of SRA regulations, AML and professional risk
• Experience of audits, investigations, claims or regulatory matters
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• The confidence to influence and constructively challenge senior colleagues
• A practical, commercially minded approach to risk and compliance
