Job Description

Compliance Auditor

Regional Office Worker
- Site & Community based (Covering Birmingham)

Salary: £30,000 per annum + Package

Can you look beneath the surface, use evidence well and turn compliance findings into practical improvement?

We are looking for a curious and confident Compliance Auditor to provide assurance across the Youth Jobs Guarantee, helping us understand how services are operating, where risks are emerging and what needs to improve.

This is a role for someone who can balance rigour with pragmatism: testing evidence, asking the right questions and making sure compliance supports safe, high-quality delivery rather than slowing it down.

What you will be doing

  • Plan and complete risk-based assurance activity, including audits, quality reviews and investigations across internal services and delivery partners.
  • Review evidence, records and controls against contractual, legislative, financial and organisational requirements.
  • Identify risks, trends and root causes, looking beyond the obvious issue to understand what is really happening.
  • Investigate concerns fairly and objectively, gathering and testing information before reaching conclusions.
  • Produce clear, balanced reports that explain findings, risk, impact and practical recommendations.
  • Challenge professionally, building constructive relationships with managers, colleagues and partners while maintaining independence.
  • Track improvement actions, confirming that changes are implemented and effective.
  • Support wider quality and compliance activity, including safeguarding assurance, external audits and operational compliance queries.

Qualifications

You will be naturally curious, objective and confident working with detail. You may already work in compliance, audit, quality assurance, investigations, governance or an operational role where you have developed strong judgement and risk awareness.

You will be comfortable reviewing information from different sources, spotting patterns, asking good questions and explaining complex findings clearly. You will know how to challenge constructively and turn evidence into recommendations that help teams improve.

You will bring integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail, while keeping sight of the purpose of the programme: helping people access meaningful employment safely, fairly and effectively.

If you can combine professional curiosity, sound judgement and the confidence to turn assurance into improvement, we would like to hear from you.
