A welcoming and supportive secondary school in the South Birmingham area is seeking an experienced School Administrator to join their team on an interim / long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional administrator who enjoys working in a busy school environment.

Your new role
Working closely with the School Business Manager, you will provide a comprehensive and confidential administrative service, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school office and reception area.
Key Responsibilities

  • Providing a professional and welcoming reception service for visitors, pupils, parents and staff.
  • Managing a range of administrative duties and prioritising workloads effectively.
  • Producing, amending and formatting documents using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Maintaining accurate records and data entry on school management systems, including SIMS.
  • Processing and retrieving information using financial and administrative software packages.
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries in a professional manner.
  • Supporting the wider school team with general administrative tasks.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.
  • Referring complex queries and issues to senior staff when appropriate.
  • Contributing to the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous administrative and/or receptionist experience with a school environment
  • Possess strong organisational and communication skills
  • Be confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and other IT systems
  • Have experience working with SIMS or a similar school MIS system
  • Be able to work independently and use initiative when required
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Be professional, reliable and adaptable
