Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire. Current Opportunity: MEP Site Manager
Location: Based in Coventry - the South Region comprises Sublots 2B, 2A and 1A Long Itchington Wood. It stretches for approximately 39.2km from Finham Brook to Southam through a mixture of rural and suburban landscapes.
Responsibilities
- Manage the safe day-to-day delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) works across allocated project sections.
- Lead site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners to deliver works in line with programme and quality requirements.
- Ensure compliance with BBV, HS2 and statutory health, safety and environmental standards.
- Implement approved construction methodologies, permits, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Monitor progress, resolve site delivery challenges and support achievement of project milestones.
- Coordinate interfaces between MEP, civil, structural and architectural teams.
- Manage inspections, testing, commissioning and handover activities to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain accurate project records, reports and site documentation whilst supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Experience
- HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience as an MEP Site Manager, Site Manager, Senior Engineer or similar role on major construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health systems installation, testing and commissioning.
- Experience managing subcontractors, site teams and multidisciplinary workforces.
- Good knowledge of construction health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Valid CSCS card and relevant site management qualifications (SMSTS desirable).
