Structural Engineer
Birmingham – Hybrid
£35,000 – £45,000 + EOT Bonus / Profit Share
An opportunity has opened up for a Structural Engineer to join one of the most highly regarded engineering consultancies in the world.
This is a strong option for someone who wants technically interesting projects, exposure to major clients and the chance to work within a genuinely multidisciplinary engineering environment.
The Birmingham structures team continues to grow following a number of major project wins across the Midlands and wider UK.
The role
You’ll be working across a varied portfolio of new-build and refurbishment projects, with current and upcoming work including:
Advanced manufacturing and industrial facilities
Major transport buildings
Data centres
Healthcare and hospital projects
Education and university buildings
Energy and low-carbon projects
Commercial developments
Structural retrofit and refurbishment
The work is often technically complex, with structural engineering playing a major part in shaping the overall building design.
You’ll work alongside Structural Engineers, Technicians and other engineering disciplines, contributing to projects from early-stage design through to detailed design and delivery.
What they’re looking for
Ideally, you’ll have:
A degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
Experience working on building structures within a UK consultancy
Experience designing in common structural materials including steel and reinforced concrete
A good understanding of structural analysis and building design
Strong communication skills and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
An interest in progressing towards ICE or IStructE Chartership
You don’t need to already be chartered, but you should be keen to continue developing technically and professionally.
Why consider it?
Alongside the quality of the projects, one of the biggest attractions is the long-term package and working environment.
The consultancy is employee-owned, meaning employees share in the success of the business through an EOT bonus / profit share, alongside:
Hybrid and flexible working
Private medical insurance
Life assurance
Income protection
Strong Chartership support
Excellent internal training and development
Exposure to major UK and international projects
Genuine long-term career progression
For a Structural Engineer who wants to develop within a technically strong consultancy without being pigeonholed into one project type, this is a particularly good opportunity.
Please note: visa sponsorship isn't available for this position, so applicants will need an existing right to work in the UK.
