Class Teacher KS3 – SEMH Class
The Education Network is looking for an experienced Key Stage 3 Class Teacher to join a specialist school in South Birmingham, teaching a small class of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This role would suit a teacher with previous SEMH experience who is confident working with students who may have struggled within mainstream education. You will take responsibility for teaching a Key Stage 3 class across a primary-style curriculum, providing a consistent and structured approach that helps students re-engage with learning.

Strong classroom management skills are essential. You will need to be confident setting clear boundaries, managing challenging behaviour and building positive relationships with students. You will be supported by a dedicated Teaching Assistant in the classroom.
The successful Class Teacher will be adaptable, resilient and able to create a calm, purposeful learning environment where students feel supported and able to make progress.

Job Role:
  • Teaching a small class of students with SEMH needs
  • Deliver lessons across a primary-style curriculum
  • Plan and adapt learning to meet individual needs
  • Establish clear routines, expectations and boundaries
  • Manage challenging behaviour confidently and consistently
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students
  • Work closely with the supporting Teaching Assistant
  • Encourage engagement, confidence and independence
  • Monitor progress and provide appropriate support
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a consistent approach
