SEND Teaching Assistant
Specialist SEND School – Birmingham
The Education Network is looking for a committed and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who wants to work closely with pupils with additional needs and play a genuine part in their learning, development and day-to-day success.

You will provide a combination of classroom, small-group and individual support, working alongside experienced teachers and SEND professionals to help pupils access learning and develop their confidence and independence.
Experience working with pupils with SEND is highly desirable, particularly within a special school, specialist provision or similar setting. However, we are also keen to hear from strong mainstream Teaching Assistants who have a genuine interest in developing their SEND experience.
Job Role:

• Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND across the school day
• Work 1-2-1 and with small groups where required
• Support pupils to access learning and classroom activities
• Help develop communication, confidence and independence
• Support pupils with their individual learning and development targets
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Work closely with teachers and specialist SEND staff
• Adapt your approach to meet individual needs
• Contribute to a safe, calm and positive learning environment
