PE Teacher – Sports & Leadership – Birmingham
The Education Network is looking for a dynamic PE Teacher to join a specialist school in Birmingham on a long-term basis, teaching small classes of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a PE Teacher who can use sport as more than just a lesson, helping students develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, leadership skills and a more positive attitude towards education.

You will deliver engaging PE and sports leadership lessons to small groups of students, adapting your approach to meet individual needs and abilities. The role would suit a PE Teacher who enjoys working in a more personalised environment and is confident managing behaviour while building strong relationships with students. Experience working with SEMH students, Alternative Provision or challenging behaviour is highly desirable.

Job Role:

• Deliver engaging PE and sports lessons to small classes
• Teach students with SEMH and additional behavioural needs
• Develop a varied and practical PE curriculum
• Deliver sports leadership opportunities and activities
• Use sport to develop confidence, teamwork and resilience
• Build positive relationships with students
• Adapt lessons to different abilities, needs and engagement levels
• Manage behaviour calmly and consistently
• Encourage students to take responsibility and develop leadership skills
• Work closely with colleagues to support students' wider development
