Colmore Education are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to work within a mainstream secondary school in Birmingham.

We are looking for a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor who can maintain a positive learning environment and confidently manage classes in the absence of the usual teacher.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

• Supervising students across KS3 and KS4 during lessons.
• Delivering pre-set work and ensuring students remain focused and engaged.
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies.
• Building positive relationships with students and staff.
• Supporting a calm, safe and productive learning environment.
• Providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Cover Supervisor will ideally have:

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• The confidence to supervise classes independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A professional, reliable and positive approach.
• The ability to adapt to different subjects and year groups.

Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Sports Coach or in another education-based role would be advantageous.
