Management Accountant, Permanent, £40,000-£50,000, Outskirts of Birmingham, On-Site Role 5 Days Per Week

My client is seeking an experienced and proactive Management Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a business with ambitious growth plans, combining strong management accounting responsibilities with ownership of key finance processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts.
Prepare period-end reconciliations, schedules, and supporting analysis.
Investigate variances and provide meaningful insight into financial performance.
Maintain strong balance sheet controls and reconciliations.
Manage the fixed asset register and associated accounting.
Support VAT returns, external audits, and statutory reporting requirements.
Oversee staff expenses, Barclaycard processes, and utilities billing.
Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, controls, and reporting.

About You

Experienced in preparing or significantly contributing to monthly management accounts.
Strong balance sheet reconciliation and financial control skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Advanced Excel skills and keen attention to detail.
Organised, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working across both management accounting and operational finance activities.
A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Desirable

Experience supporting finance transformation or business change.
Knowledge of Pegasus Opera.
Qualified, part-qualified, or studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or ACA (or equivalent experience).
