Teaching Assistant - #2152011

Teaching Assistant required to provide 1-2-1 support to a male student at a specialist school in Birmingham. Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a Level 3 qualification or degree? Do you have experience supporting young people with SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour? This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1-2-1 support within a specialist setting.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the student, class teacher and wider support team to help him access learning, manage barriers to education and remain engaged throughout the school day. Previous Teaching Assistant experience is essential, along with either a Level 3 qualification or degree. Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH needs or challenging behaviour would be highly desirable.

Job Role:

• Providing dedicated 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant support.
• Supporting the student to access lessons and engage with learning.
• Building a positive and trusting relationship with the student.
• Supporting behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation.
• Helping the student overcome barriers to learning.
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team.
• Encouraging confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
• Following safeguarding, behaviour and pupil welfare procedures.
