Birmingham based with Midlands wide coverage
£33,000 - £37,500 per annum + car allowance

We are working with a well established housing association based in Birmingham, with properties and customers across the Midlands, who are looking to appoint a Homeownership Officer on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional to take responsibility for the effective property management and providing a high-quality service to leaseholders and shared owners.

The role will involve working across the Midlands, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of leasehold and homeownership properties across the Midlands.
• Provide professional advice and support to leaseholders, shared owners and other customers.
• Administer and manage service charges, ground rents and other homeownership related charges.
• Deal with leasehold enquiries, complaints, breaches and queries
• Support the delivery of major works and consultation processes
• Manage leasehold and homeownership transactions, including sales, assignments and staircasing
• Work closely with internal teams, contractors, solicitors and external stakeholders.
• Take appropriate action to address breaches of lease and recover outstanding debts
• Undertake site visits across the Midlands as required.

About you

We are looking for someone with proven experience within homeownership or leasehold management.

• Experience managing a portfolio of leasehold, shared ownership or homeownership properties.
• Good knowledge of leasehold and shared ownership legislation and processes.
• Experience with service charges, Section 20 consultations and leaseholder matters.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to manage your own workload and prioritise competing demands.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• The confidence to deal with complex queries, complaints and challenging situations.
• Good IT skills and experience using housing management systems.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
