OTE £110,000–£130,000 | Midlands office 1 day/week (traveling London & Midlands rest)

Head of Business Development vacancy in Birmingham & London - We are recruiting a Head of Business Development for an established and ambitious facilities management business with significant plans for growth across the UK.

This is a senior, hands-on new business role for a genuine business developer who enjoys opening doors, developing opportunities and winning contracts.

The business has a strong reputation across hard FM, M&E and building services and is looking for someone to take ownership of new business development as it enters its next stage of growth.

The Role

You will be responsible for identifying and developing new opportunities across London, the Midlands and surrounding regions, taking prospects from initial approach through to contract award.

Your focus will include:

• Generating your own new-business opportunities through direct approaches, networking and industry relationships.
• Building relationships with facilities, property and procurement decision makers.
• Leading opportunities from initial meeting through presentations, tender, negotiation and close.
• Working with estimating and operations to develop commercially competitive solutions.
• Leading the sales strategy behind bids and proposals.
• Maintaining a strong and accurately qualified pipeline.
• Developing intelligence around competitors, upcoming contracts and market opportunities.

You will have dedicated support across bids, estimating, operations and marketing, allowing you to concentrate primarily on developing and winning business.

About You

We are particularly interested in people currently working as a Business Development Manager, Senior Business Development Manager or Head of Business Development within facilities management.

You should have:

• A strong background selling hard FM, M&E, building services or closely related FM services.
• A demonstrable record of personally identifying and winning new contracts.
• Experience working to significant annual new-business targets.
• Good understanding of FM contract pricing, margins and commercial considerations.
• Experience of tenders and formal procurement processes.
• The confidence and personality to create relationships from scratch and develop them into business.

Experience within an independent or growing FM provider would be particularly relevant.

Package & Progression

£65,000–£80,000 basic salary, depending on experience, with uncapped commission and OTE of £110,000–£130,000,
