Our client is an established, growing construction and property services contractor with a strong presence across the Midlands. They deliver a varied portfolio of projects across refurbishment, healthcare, education, commercial and public-sector environments. The business has a strong focus on quality, health & safety, sustainability and developing its people.

Site Manager Roles and responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of construction activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, consultants and the wider supply chain, ensuring resources, plant and materials are available when required.
• Monitor progress against the programme, identify potential issues and implement solutions to maintain programme and project performance.
• Ensure all site activities comply with current Health & Safety legislation, company procedures, RAMS and environmental requirements.
• Coordinate with Contracts Managers, Quantity Surveyors, clients and supply-chain partners throughout the project.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports, inspections, quality documentation and relevant project paperwork.
• Monitor workmanship and carry out quality checks to ensure a high-quality, right-first-time standard.
• Support commercial control by identifying variations, monitoring resources and maintaining awareness of project costs.
• Lead and motivate site teams, promoting a positive, collaborative and professional working environment.

Site Manager Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Site Manager within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, programmes, drawings, specifications and Health & Safety requirements.
• Experience managing subcontractors, direct labour and multiple trades on live construction projects.
• SMSTS qualification.
• First Aid at Work qualification.
• Relevant Level 4 construction qualification such as HNC, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and relevant project-management systems.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of project budgets, variations and contractual requirements.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience within housing, refurbishment, planned maintenance or retrofit would be highly advantageous.
