Customer Service Representative - #2148355

Our client, a leading logistics Company based in Birmingham are looking for an enthusiastic Customer Service Representative to join their team initially on a 12 month maternity cover, with the possibility of a permanent role for the right person.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent telephone manner with experience in a telephone based customer service role and a desire to learn.

Starting salary of £28,000 depending on experience with hybrid working options and excellent training opportunities.

Customer Service Representative duties to include:-

• Provide support to key accounts and internal customers, handing initial queries and escalating if appropriate.
• Deal with web enquiries within agreed timeframe.
• Liaise with appropriate departments to ensure smooth resolutions are delivered.
• Work to agreed SLA’s.
• Manage customer expectations, providing updates.
• Check and update daily reports.
• Monitor ongoing jobs, ensuring they are raised correctly and monitored.
• Provide a professional service, demonstrating a passion for helping the customer.
• Deal with collection/delivery/ETA requests.
• Complete associated administrative tasks.
• Keep CRM system updated.
• Flag jobs with errors and ensure they are reported and dealt with.
• Ensure complaints are effectively handled or escalated.
• Work as part of a team, ensuring the success of the department and maximum customer satisfaction.

The Customer Service Representative will have:-

• 1 year+ experience in a customer service role.
• Strong communication skills with an excellent telephone manner.
• The desire to work as part of a team.
• Experience in freight or logistics industry would be advantageous but not essential.
• Genuine interest in helping customers.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to build good working relationships.
• Ability to use initiative.
• Strong IT skills.
• Problem solving skills.

• Working hours: 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday. Hybrid working if preferred (3 days in the office, 2 from home.) Ability to cover 9am-6pm shift on an ad hoc basis (notice given and this is worked out within the team to suit personal circumstances.)
